Beyond the cornelian narrative : the dramatic narrative fragmentation in La guerre de Troie n’aura pas lieu/Tiger at the Gates. When talking about narrative and war in theater, the famous story to the King of the Cid’s exploits. Even though it too deals with war, La Guerre de Troie n’aura pas lieu/Tiger at the Gates offers a narrative that does not resembles the famous lines of the young Castilian hero. Indeed, moving away from the more traditional dramatic narrative form of the monologue, Jean Giraudoux narrative materializes through the verbal exchange or some sort of mediation – with various narrators and levels of diegesis. While attempting to address the issue of subjectivity, the three narrative models that emerge shed light on the mechanics of the historical narrative and the unstable character of the meaning of History.
