This article deals with the conditions as well as the opportunities of a transnational literary analysis corresponding to a new understanding of the postcolonial as a means of reading contemporary literatures. Based on Jean Bessière’s considerations on the topicality of the postcolonial idea (2013), the author develops a methodological concept by taking into account three major elements: globalization, the decentralising of cultures and the postmodern status of Western literature. On the basis of two francophone literary works − L’amour, la fantasia (1985) by Assia Djebar and La troisième moitié (2010) by Ling Xi – the study finally results in presenting the gains of a renewed approach to the so-called « post-colonial » literatures from the 1980s up to the present day.
