Trois autres nouvelles, contées respectivement par Longarine, Parlamente et Dagoucin (N25, 42 et 63), relatent de façon plus discrète les aventures amoureuses de François Ier, dès son plus jeune âge. Dans ces récits et les débats qui les suivent, nous verrons que la figure du prince et du roi conserve une part d’ombre irréductible sous la plume de sa sœur, qui pourtant le « cognoissoit comme son propre cueur ». Marguerite of Navarre plays a part in her Heptameron in creating with small touches the image of King Francis I, her beloved brother. Oisille bears witness to the bold and generous attitude of the king towards a German nobleman (N17). Three other short stories told respectively by Longarine, Parlamente and Dagoucin (N25, 42 and 63), recount in a more discreet manner the amorous adventures of Francis I from a very young age. In these accounts and the debates that follow, we will see that the figure of the prince and the king nevertheless remains partly secret under the pen of his sister, although she “knew him like her own heart”.
