Il s’agira dans cet article de mettre au jour plusieurs thématiques communes aux œuvres théâtrales de ces deux auteurs contemporains. À travers la déconstruction du récit, la mise en ruine de l’espace scénique, du personnage et de la langue, nous pouvons observer un démantèlement du genre, d’où le sens va émerger. C’est un Théâtre rénové par son effacement qui apparaît, transposant les personnages de l’huis-clos familial vers l’archétype, et entraînant une remise en question, une redéfinition du genre et une réflexion sur la place du spectateur, sur son rapport intime à la langue, au signifiant comme au signe, et au final sur la communication entre les êtres. À travers l’effondrement et le silence, l’écriture conduit aux origines, aux retrouvailles entre l’homme et sa parole. Le théâtre de Lagarce et de Duras est un retour à la source, entrevue dans le refus des traditions et la recherche du mot à jamais égaré. This article aims to bring to light several themes common to the theatrical works of these two contemporary authors. Through the deconstruction of the story, the dissection of the performance area, the character and the language, we can observe a dismantling of the genre, from which meaning will emerge. From this deconstruction, a new Theatre arises, which transposes the characters from the family huis clos to the archetype and leads to questioning, to redefining the genre and rethinking the place of the audience, their intimate connection to language, to the meaning as well as to the word, and ultimately to communication between beings. Through the collapse and silence, writing leads back to the origins, to the reunion of man and his speech. The works of Lagarce and Duras are a return to the core, which lies somewhere between the refusal of traditions and the search of the forever-lost word.
