Résumé :
A myth is an image which has been intensified and spread to the point of becoming a standard. Based on James Dean’s persona, spread by television and mainstream movies, degraded by decades of gross-out teen comedies and a more or less relevant vision of teen angst, the myth of american adolescence has managed to survive every appropriation, every subversion, every demythicization thanks to its universality and the personal dimension it carries. This study will show how the myth of adolescence was constructed and deconstructed in contemporary American cinema.
