Résumé :
L’auxiliaire be, auxiliaire d’identification orienté à droite, s’oppose de façon binaire à have, auxiliaire orienté à gauche.
Be, the identifying right-oriented auxiliary, is opposed to have, the left-oriented auxiliary. Within this binary opposition, we would like to integrate ain’t and got.It may be surprising to put together these two oral marks, the former bearing a negation when the latter does not. Still, both can be likened to auxiliary forms in as much as they have an influence on the orientation of the predicative link.Ain’t can indeed erase the opposition between have and be, in as much as it can mean either. It thereby becomes a mark of negative identity when be does not allow it (I ain’t). Got does not have the same capacity of replacing either form. It rather integrates into a predicative link to counter-balance the left orientation of have whilst still not enabling an identification for it. As a tool to rebalance the predicative link, got becomes a means of neutralising the orientation, between non-attribution and non-identification.
