Harold Pinter’s The Go-Between: The Courage To Be*

“Harold Pinter’s and Joseph Losey’s The Go-Between is one of those rare cinematic events, a resounding critical success that also did well at the box office. With a script by Pinter, Losey’s film won the Grand Prix (the Palme D’Or) at the Cannes Film Festival in May 1971 and also a number of awards from Britain’s Society of Film and Television Arts, including Best Film and Best Screenplay (Billington, 208).
